Dear Beautiful Angels,
Well, the situation in Israel has entered the next phase, and yet again, we’ve all had to adjust and move forward with the unknown. These days have felt lighter simply because we’re not constantly running for shelter, but the exhaustion is apparent in all of us—citizens, volunteers, and soldiers alike.
In November alone, we gave 907 treatments and visited 11 bases.
In the first half of December, we’ve already given 489 treatments and visited 4 bases.
Collectively, over the past 14 months, we’ve officially provided 9,122 treatments across 120 base days. I am truly in awe of everyone involved.
With Hanukkah approaching, I wanted to take a moment to talk about bringing in light.
Hanukkah is my favorite holiday, and I genuinely love lighting my menorah each night. We have so many holidays—some fun, some heavy—but Hanukkah holds a special place in my heart.
Why? The fundamentals of “We Are One” is all about unity and working together to bring more light into the world. It’s a reminder that we fight darkness with light—as ONE. Hanukkah embodies that idea, and we get to live it in such a tangible way.
The other day, I found myself in a conversation about how this concept applies to every area of our lives: community, home, relationships, and everything in between. Every moment can be an opportunity to bring in more light together.
If I had to pick the best part of this year, it is witnessing the light we’ve brought into the world by working together. Watching our incredible volunteers come together, quickly embracing the vision and extending care to strangers, is deeply humbling and most gratifying. Just today, I woke up to messages from volunteers—some part of our Chayal’s Angels family, others visiting from abroad—sharing how their experiences brought them the same feeling.
A few weeks ago, I was feeling completely drained. Physically, my body has been through so much this year. Mentally, my mind never stops, but spiritually, my faith and connections have deepened beyond words.
I can’t fully express my gratitude for being surrounded by such remarkable, like-minded people from all walks of life, united in a mission to heal, give, and receive in every way. Every single volunteer and soldier we work with amazes me daily. I’ve said this before, but it deserves repeating: this mission is nothing without them—without YOU. While I am honored to lead this mission, I am nothing without each and every one of you who continue to push us forward.
I have a request this Hanukkah:
Would you help us by spreading our name and mission?
If everyone reading this email forwarded it to just 10 people, our outreach would grow exponentially, and our light would continue to spread.
May you all enjoy Hanukkah and bask in the glow of your menorahs. May our hostages feel the warmth and comfort of that light, and may we bring every single one of them home.
Until next month,
Tasha Cohen,
